Next Grant Cycle

In fall 2013 our grants committee will be visiting schools to share about the innovative grants process and December 2013 mandatory grants workshop for new applicants.   Applications will be due in early March 2014 and will be awarded in May 2014.   If you would like our group to visit your campus, contact us.

 

New Teacher Supply Grant Applications will open again in August 2013. 

 

Please note the Foundation ONLY accepts applications from SAISD employees.

Innovative Grants

 

Our review committee is currently reviewing application for projects to be implemented in the 2013-14 school year.  We look forward to awarding these grants by surprise grant deliveries on our campuses the week of May 20th.  We welcome partners, donors, alumni and friends to join us on the Grant Patrol.  We were inspired by the 70+ educators who attended our grants workshop in January and can't wait to award the funds in May.  One of the teachers who attended the January workshop expressed  "I want to thank the Foundation for all that you do in realizing teacher dreams to enrich and inspire our students within this district."  Our response...We are honored to do so!

 

New Teacher Supply Grants Awarded

 

More than 100 new teachers representing 33 schools across all grade levels District-wide and their 6,895 students are now even more well-supplied for learning.  They were the recipients of $200 New Teacher Supply Grants each from the Foundation presented during a ceremony at Travis Early College High School. Teachers requested funds to support everything from books to build classroom libraries to support SAISD's Balanced Literacy Initiative to supplies for science experiments.  To date the SAISD Foundation has funded 548 new teacher grants.  Click here for a full list of recipients.

Principal Grant Awarded to Kick Off School Year

 

Congratulations to Dr. Traci Smith, Herff Elementary Principal!  Herff was the recipient of a $10,000 grant from the SAISD Foundation focused on reading and literacy. Reading and literacy are significant areas of focus for SAISD for 2012-2013. We hope to make one or more Principal Grants available on an annual basis each summer for the following school year.  

 

Foundation Makes Surprise Grant Deliveries
