Thanks to the support of our donors, we are launched our first Mini-Grants Program in fall 2013 awarding 55 mini-grants across 35 elementary, middle school and high school campuses.

New Teacher Grants are awarded in September/October to new teachers to San Antonio ISD to help them supply their classrooms for enhanced learning.

Principal Grants are awarded at the start of the school year from summer applications. The 2013-2014 grants awarded to Woodlawn Elementary, Woodlawn Hills Elementary and Connell Middle School addressed enhanced technology in science instruction, increased robotics programming and new character programs and training respectively.

TheInnovative Grants process opens in January and awards are made in May for the next school year. In 2013, we awarded over $100,000 in new innovative grants to support academic clubs like robotics, scrabble and chess clubs to instructional technology including iPads, Kindles, iPad Minis and Apple TVs as well as musical instruments and classroom libraries.

Each year the Foundation, in partnership with the District, identifies key areas in which to invest including professional development, and piloting academic programs with promise and one-time acquisitions of innovative learning materials and equipment.  Many of these initiatives happen because of the support of business and community partners who share our vision for students and schools in San Antonio ISD.  See what Strategic Initiatives we have happening now.
