Our Year in Review As we approach the holidays and the ringing in of the new year (and new decade) in just a few weeks, it is the perfect time to take a few minutes to reflect on the year. For the SAISD Foundation, it has been a significant one. Our Board of Directors finalized a revised mission statement, vision statement and strategic plan to launch in 2020, which will take our work to the next level and ensures we are playing a critical part in meeting the needs of SAISD students in ways that complement the progress in SAISD schools. With increased rigor and student outcomes, come additional needs for student experiences and the resources those experiences require. Instruments for all, enhanced STEM experiences, and workplace exposure , as well as opportunities and additional support systems for the 52% of our students now heading to college. With your help, we'll be ready to hit the ground running in 2020! To further support this work, we will be launching SAISD Nation in 2020 focused on engaging alumni who have graduated from SAISD schools and retired SAISD employees who dedicated their work lives to our students! Here's to heartfelt holiday time with families and friends and an exciting New Year! Together, we are all investing in better tomorrows! Judy Geelhoed Executive Director

Roll Over Your IRA to Support Students in SAISD For San Antonio ISD alumni and supporters of the progress in SAISD who are 70 1/2 years of age or older, you can roll over your IRA to benefit students. Rolling over your IRA required distribution or a portion of that distribution to the SAISD Foundation can make a difference for students AND minimize your tax bill. In fact, individuals can give up to $100,000 to a public charity tax free from their IRA. All rollover gifts to a charity count toward your required minimum distribution. Read full story here!
