2020 State of SAISD On Feb. 19, 2020, SAISD Superintendent Pedro Martinez addressed a full house during the State of the District address. The event, hosted by the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and the SAISD Foundation, marks Martinez’s fifth time taking the stage to speak to the business community about San Antonio’s third-largest school district. We know that progress in SAISD is a combined effort that takes each of us, and those who attended showcased their engagement in this robust community. Student groups, benefiting from fundraising efforts of the SAISD Foundation, featured at the event include the Lamar Elementary Chimes and Choir, Los Distinguidos Caballeros from Briscoe Elementary, Sam Houston Cyber P-Tech students and the Edison High School drumline! If you were not able to attend the event, we welcome you to click below to view event photos, presentation slides and live stream. There is exciting progress to see! Click HERE! There has been no better time to get involved with this important work!
Funds raised by the SAISD Foundation through events like this support the featured student programs. Through teacher grants this year, the SAISD Foundation supported chimes for two new chime choirs, instruments for a high school indoor drum line, podcast equipment for a new program for Cyber P-Tech students, uniforms for clubs like Los Distinguidos Caballeros and so much more. When you support our events, we put those donations to work across SAISD schools for maximum impact for our students.
