Alumni Professional Network

We inducted 24 SAISD alumni into our inaugural class of the SAISD Alumni Professional Network on Tuesday, February 15. Alumni were led by Interim Superintendent Dr. “J” as well as SAISD Foundation Board Chair, Ernest Bromley and Director Robert Olivares. The Alumni Professional Network is a group of alumni across a variety of industries who are interested in reconnecting to support SAISD students. These committed alumni will help students and our newest alumni gain exposure to the wide range of careers in San Antonio and the surrounding area by providing networking, connections and exposure through job shadowing, internships, and work-based field trips, or by becoming career speakers. 200 Projects Funded During Fall Mini-Grants Cycle

In December we wrapped up our fall cycle of Mini-Grants. Through a matching partnership with Donors Choose we supported teachers across 55 schools in SAISD. As depicted in the graphic below, PK-2nd grade teachers had the highest percentage of grants. The top three categories of grant requests were for books, educational kits and games, and instructional technology. These educators' grants make a positive impact on the lives of teachers and students in SAISD each and every day.

Help Support Literacy in SAISD

Looking for an easy opportunity to make a BIG difference during spring break? Come volunteer at Book Buddies! We have sessions open on March 5, 7 and 12. Volunteers will sort, clean and box books to be delivered to Beacon Hill Academy, as well as Arnold and Ball elementary schools. Click the button below to sign up.
