School is out but we keep going. In June, we learned about how our postsecondary success efforts impacted the Class of 2022 and more! We also saw just how much our #SAISDFamilia shows up for our community.

Attend, Achieve & Win Grand Prize Awarded

We wrapped up the Attend, Achieve & Win attendance incentive program by awarding one lucky SAISD family with a 2023 RAV4 from our friends at Frost Bank and Cavender Toyota! The ten finalists were selected in a random drawing of over 378,000 digital tickets earned by SAISD students throughout the year for strong and improved attendance. 

At the event, Superintendent Jaime Aquino was proud to announce that this program contributed to the overall 3% student attendance increase over last year resulting in over $9 million in funding to support SAISD students. Sam Houston Graduates First P-TECH Cohort

The Sam Houston High School graduation included the first cohort of Cyber P-TECH students, a significant achievement for the program! P-TECH programs allow students to earn an applied associate's degree from Alamo Colleges and industry-based certifications prior to graduation from high school. These growing programs in SAISD are accredited by TEA to support workforce development in high-wage/high-demand fields. The Cyber P-TECH program was the first program to launch in SAISD which has expanded to programs in fields that include construction, manufacturing, and nursing. Thanks to funders like HB Family Foundation, we have been proud to support some of these growing programs with equipment and uniforms. Learn more about Sam Houston’s P-TECH graduates! 

Dorm Room Drive Success

We are so grateful to our San Antonio community who rallied together to donate items during our Dorm Room Drive including luggage, bedding and more. If you missed the event but would still like to help us support up to 200 college-bound students, you can! Just $50 will help us send them off to school with much-needed essentials. With a new milestone of 56% of our 2022 SAISD graduates enrolled in college this year, there has never been a better time to support our students!

June Board Meeting Updates

Thank you to the Wilson Elementary staff for hosting the SAISD Foundation Board of Directors for our June meeting. Students demonstrated what they’ve learned through their school-wide principal STEM grant and teachers shared the impact of our investment on student learning!
