From the first Senior Job Fair to Innovative Grants awarded to SAISD educators, we've been visiting schools around the district to recognize teachers and students who go the extra mile. We're excited to be investing in and cheering on the SAISD community! |
First SAISD Senior Job Fair a Success |
In April, SAISD hosted its first Senior Job Fair where more than 700 students visited with over 60 employers and work-based programs. On-the-spot offers were an exciting element of the event. From internships to job offers, students were able to learn more about their fields of interest and build connections with recruiters. We were proud to serve as the fiscal agent of this first-time event and support SAISD's Career and Technical Education and College and Career and Military Readiness Departments. See the program in action from SAISD’s update!

A Record 700 Educator Grants & Awards Reached
|
This month, we distributed the last of our 2023 Innovative Grant awards! In partnership with SAISD, we awarded 18 SAISD educators a total of $84,000. These awards allowed us to reach a new milestone of 700 educator grants and awards distributed in one school year! From new teacher grants to teacher of the year awards, we are honored to invest in our hard-working teachers.
Our grant supports SAISD teachers in creating unique learning experiences and environments for their students. Mr. Aleman at Burbank High School won an Innovative Grant to expand the hydroponic garden we had funded in his chemistry classroom. In addition to the practical applications in chemistry, Mr. Aleman shares, "It's a big driver of attendance in my room. If a student is having a bad day or is not wanting to participate, I can ask them to do me a favor for the garden then their mood is always improved."
