$120,000 in Scholarships Awarded this Spring |
Last month, more than 50 of our youngest SAISD alumni gathered at the Alamo Convocation Center for the SAISD Foundation’s Spring Scholarship Breakfast. The event, in partnership with the Department of Postsecondary Initiatives, gave students receiving Foundation scholarships a chance to network with their peers and mentors and enjoy a quick bite to eat. The program featured an alumni panel discussion moderated by Jefferson alumna and SAISD Foundation Board Member Laura Saldivar Luna. They discussed their pathways and obstacles during their undergraduate years and beyond. After the panel, students continued networking and picked up their scholarship checks for the spring semester. From students who attend universities right here in San Antonio to those who attend a university more than 500 miles away, every student was happy to reconnect with their SAISD Familia. Thank you to all of our scholarship donors who help remove financial barriers for students in their college journey through the 180 named scholarships our students receive in addition to our 20 SAISD Foundation scholarships. Thank you, Campus Employee Donors! |
Our employee donors are a special group. Dedicated to seeing their students and colleagues thrive, they choose to donate and support the collective work we share in addition to the commitment they make everyday to own communities.
This month we recognized two campuses, that excelled in the percentage of employees who made a gift to the SAISD Foundation and raised a significant contribution overall. Our gratitude is being extended to both JT Brackenridge at the primary level and Burbank High School at the secondary level. Special shoutout to Burbank for being the highest contributing school for the secondary level for two years in a row! See the celebrations in the coming weeks by following us on our social media channels.
If SAISD employees missed the opportunity to make a gift, they can do so during our February Give a Little Love Campaign. Visit the internal SAISD employee portal to contribute to even more innovative and mini-grants for fellow San Antonio ISD educators. |
School Board Appreciation Month |

From joining us at scholarship award ceremonies to educator grant deliveries, each trustee serves as a guiding force to an exemplary education and provides extensive opportunities for student success. We are proud to partner with them and the San Antonio ISD familia to ensure students and teachers thrive in public schools.
