Help Edison and Lanier High School mariachi groups participate in the 2024 FESTIBA Mariachi Festival. The goal is to raise $12,500 to pay for transportation and lodging. This will help 18 students from Edison and 14 students from Lanier to participate in the event that takes place in Edinburg, Texas at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

The Festival of International Books and Arts (FESTIBA) was established in 2006 to promote the importance of literacy, culture and the arts to students, parents, educators and community members. One of the hallmark moments of the series is the FESTIBA Mariachi Festival which is one of the premier mariachi festivals in the state of Texas.

FESTIBA includes workshops, MS/HS group & vocal competitions, and a concert performed by one of the premier mariachi ensembles in the world. This year students will meet and work with Mariachi Los Camperos, a world-renowned, Grammy Award-winning mariachi. This opportunity allows our San Antonio ISD students to learn about mariachi and how respected artists practice their craft.

Help the Edison and Lanier Mariachi reach their goal by February 15, 2024!
