Pathfinder is a STEM Bus outfitted with eSports and Cyber Patriots equipment (Nintendo Switch and high-end gaming computers) and also has two, high-speed WIFI connections separate from the school district’s. Utilize the large 80 inch external screen to showcase competitions taking place onboard the bus, stream live workplace virtual visits, and more! Pathfinder is geared towards MS and HS with active eSports and Cyber Patriots Teams, or schools wanting to start one. Schools can check out VR headsets with Transfr career exploration software.
Voyager is a STEM Bus focused on aviation, 3d design, and robotics advanced manufacturing. Small groups up to 15-20 can tour the interior and test out the flight simulator and utilize the 3d printers, and a cobot arm, while other groups can race drones and program robots through a race course.
Both buses are robust mobile learning tools with a goal to allow students to explore STEM. Sign up to request either bus below. Please note, requests made within the week will not be considered.
The SAISD Foundation can help expand student experiences by covering transportation costs for field trips. Educators are eligible for one field trip or event per grade level, per campus, per school year. This includes travel for:
Please note, the Transportation Department requires all transportation requests be sent AT LEAST FIVE days before the date of the field trip or the request may be denied.
The SAISD Foundation does not cover the cost for admission for field trips at this time. Please view the Google Form for a list of our partners who currently offer free admission to our San Antonio ISD schools.
