Harris 8th Grade Trip

Joel C. Harris Middle School, one of the original eight junior high schools established in SAISD in 1923, is committed to nurturing internationally minded individuals who are caring, respectful, and aware of cultural differences. Our Social Studies department strives to instill qualities of responsibility, curiosity, honesty, and open-mindedness in our students, encouraging them to become knowledgeable leaders and active contributors to their communities, working toward a better world.
Thanks to the support of the SAISD Foundation, we were able to take our 7th graders on an enriching trip to the Bullock Museum and Texas State Capitol. For many students, this was their first time leaving San Antonio, offering them a deeper understanding of Texas History. Now, we aim to offer our 8th graders the chance to bring their U.S. History lessons to life by visiting the nation’s Capitol and exploring key historical sites across Washington, D.C.
Your generous donations will help offset the cost of this incredible opportunity. The price per student is $2,449.00, and your support will ensure as many students as possible can participate in this transformative educational experience.
