Foundation_Fiesta Medal Competition_Poster-2nd-9thplace runner upsIn fall 2016, the SAISD Foundation called for entries for its inaugural Fiesta Medal Design Competition. The winning design will be used for its 2017 Fiesta Medal Fundraiser. All funds raised directly benefit grants for arts programs in San Antonio ISD. Students with the top three designs were awarded prizes and teachers of these students received a grant to support the arts in their classroom. Teachers in any grade/content area submitted their students’ entries. The FIRST place design is the official 2017 SAISD Foundation Fiesta Medal. ¡Viva Arts Education! ¡Viva Fiesta San Antonio!

Congratulations Stephanie Pedroza, 7th grade student at Wheatley Community School, SAISD, our 3rd place winner in SAISDFoundation's 2017 Fiesta medal design competition. Miss Pedroza won gift of art supplies and her art teacher, Ms. Arce (not pictured) received an art grant. The winning 2017 SAISD Foundation Fiesta Medal design comes from 11th grade Sam Houston High School student Amber Barron!! Amber won a gift of art supplies and her teacher, Mr. Santana (r), received an art grant for his class. Also pictured: Assistant Principal Mr. Martell (l).
