The SAISD Foundation is a non-profit 501(c) 3 public charity committed to cultivating a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment where everyone is respected and feels like they belong, regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation or identity, disability, veteran status, education level, or socioeconomic background. 

We strive to ensure that our Foundation staff and Board of Directors reflect our SAISD community and our core values as we proudly serve our SAISD students, staff and teachers. We embrace the life experiences of our Foundation community, and we welcome unique perspectives that enhance our programs, events, and services. 

We live our Core Beliefs in the following ways: 

• We embrace integrity in the performance of our duties;
• We prioritize and fund annual training for all Board members and Foundation staff to learn and grow together as we embrace individual thoughts and values; 
• We identify gaps in our own policies, programs, and services, and we create solutions with stakeholders in our community; 
• We gather data rooted in quantitative methods and life experiences to inform our decision-making processes;
• We share stories that reflect the lives of our students and teachers, we promote stories that show the realities of our classrooms, we inform conversations about SAISD, and we demonstrate our district’s progress and needs; 
• We facilitate grants, scholarships and programs that are inclusive, fair and equitable and we invite feedback from the communities we serve;
• We lead with grace, curiosity, compassion, and an eagerness to learn. We encourage one another to ask questions, and we challenge assumptions; and 
• We focus on strengthening SAISD students, teachers and staff. We push for excellence in SAISD and increased access to opportunities for SAISD students, staff and faculty.
