Support Twain Mariachi
Dear Twain Dual Language Academy Mariachi supporters,
Help the Twain DLA Mariachi Program raise funds to purchase mariachi uniforms for our Junior Varsity and Varsity Mariachi Ensembles. The goal is to raise $25,000.00 to pay for the mariachi uniforms.
History: The Twain DLA Mariachi was reborn after a hiatus in the Fall of 2020 under the direction of Mr. Joe A. Soliz. The original class was 16 students but by January 2021 the enrollment had grown to over 60 students. The mariachi program at Twain has averaged over 130 students a year in grades 4th thru 8th.
Performances: Our Junior Varsity and Varsity Mariachi have been performing in various SAISD District events, campus events, community events(Fiesta, Dies Y SIes de Septiembre, Cinco de Mayo) and numerous mariachi competitions.
Uniforms/Competitions: We are in desperate need of uniforms for our growing mariachi program for our Junior Varsity and Varsity mariachi to be able to compete not only in San Antonio area mariachi competitions but also at other competitions throughout Texas. However, in order to attend these competitions it is required that we raise the funds necessary to purchase mariachi uniforms. We are also trying to raise additional funds in the future to be able to outfit all of our new mariachi students that join our mariachi program at the Junior Varsity and Varsity level plus to fund any expenses that are not covered by our School District Budget allotment.
Primary Goal: Our primary goal is to raise funds to buy (30 )(3 piece–Jacket, Vest, Pants and or skirt) mariachi uniforms with belts, botines(boots), hairpieces, uniform bags and mariachi bowties with the Twain DLA design or logo.
In Conclusion:
Twain DLA Mariachi parents, mariachi students, community members, and Twain DLA exes with your generous support we can ensure that our mariachi students will have the resources they need to compete and perform the music of our rich cultural tradition which is MARIACHI.
