The Future of STEMjust pulled into the parking lot!
The SAISD Foundation STEM Buses bring hands-on, high-impact STEM learning directly to students, sparking imagination and introducing fields many have never experiences before.Designed to fill key gaps in SAISD's STEM ecosystem, buses deliver immersive technology - from 3D pens to a flight simulator and esports gaming equipment - that ignites curiosity and builds skills. For many students, the Pathfinder STEM Bus is the first place they truly fit in. As one Sam Houston High School student and Class of 2026 Valedictorian shared, This bus is the only time my whole esports team can work together. It's our space, and its the first time many of us truly feel we belong." On the Voyager STEM bus, student excitement is constant—and contagious: “The 3D pen helped me boost my creativity out of the 2nd dimension.” — Adelaisa, 5th grade “The one thing that all the activities had in common was that they made me use my imagination. I realized I was interested in all those activities because I got to try them on the STEM Bus. -Ruhama, 5th Grade “I got super high in the air—even though I crashed!” — Rylie, 3rd grade Requests for STEM Bus visits continue to grow district-wide, serving students from 4th through 12th grade multiple times each week. Whether it’s discovering a new interest, learning about new careers, trying advanced technology for the first time, or finally finding a sense of community, the buses ensure every student has a place to explore, belong, and dream bigger.
Pathfinder
By combining the excitement of esports with the rigor of cybersecurity simulations, Pathfinder inspires curiosity, fosters collaboration, and utilizes an external monitor and VR headsets to connect students to both real world and simulations in STEM fields. We currently support high school esports & CyberPatriot teams with growth on the horizon and are actively recruiting industry coaches to share expertise with middle and high school students.
Voyager
Voyager inspires and empowers students to work hands-on with advanced technologies, including a robotic arm, flight simulator, and 3D printers. It is designed to accommodate a full class through station rotations, connecting any student from any background with the expensive and intricate technology required to explore today’s STEM careers. Designed for grades 4-8, Voyager builds early awareness of high school STEM pathways.
Get Involved with the STEM Buses
Inspire the Next Generation of STEM Leaders! Help students explore exciting gateway activities leading to STEM careers by volunteering with our Voyager and Pathfinder STEM Buses. Support hands-on learning in areas like flight, robotics, and advanced manufacturing—either during the school day or after school (2-hour shifts or more). Or get involved with our esports and CyberPatriot programs aboard the Pathfinder Bus. Prefer to share your professional journey? Speak virtually or in person about your STEM career and spark curiosity in the innovators of tomorrow!
